Bonduelle at Cremerie de Paris

Bonduelle is a fascinating French Food Story — connected to the old Les Halles food market, and to the Cremerie de Paris. Bonduelle is a world leader in ready-to-use vegetables: canned, frozen and fresh.

The company, a stock-market-listed family business, was founded in 1853 by Louis Bonduelle (1803–1880) and Louis Lesaffre (1802–1869). 1853 was also the year Eugénie de Montijo (1826–1920) — the creative mind behind the Baltard Pavilions and the beautiful Les Halles food market — became Empress of the French.

The wife of Napoleon III loved to take her son, Prince Louis-Napoléon (1856–1879), to the Cremerie de Paris to tell him stories about another child: the young Louis XIV (1638–1715). She would have loved to see the BonBonBon pop-up restaurant by Bonduelle.

The restaurant tested a new fast-food concept based on healthy vegetables. The BonBonBon was a stunning design by Raphaël Dumont and Arnaud Pinel, from the agency DD.

The pop-up was operated by Strada Marketing, an organiser of food-event experiences, drawing on the know-how of Loïc Illaquier, Aurélie Sacarabany, Julien Heurtaux and Elodie Brunet. Aurélie Sacarabany (Strada Marketing), together with Patrick Lesueur and Capucine Cronier (Bonduelle), were at the heart of the project, making the Pop Up Store a true healthy food experience.

So next time you see Bonduelle in a supermarket, remember they once had a magical pop-up at Cremerie de Paris. Read the fascinating history of Bonduelle ↗

The Bonduelle Pop Up was so beautiful it became part of Cremerie de Paris History

When a Cremerie de Paris Pop Up Store is well done, something unique comes with it. The Expo becomes part of the history of a landmark that is a crossroads between past and future — the same place that saw every Bourbon King of France walk through its courtyard at VB (Hôtel de Villeroy-Bourbon) was, at the very dawn of the Internet, an avant-garde Internet café. The Bonduelle Pop Up Store continues to be admired from the homepage of VB.com — the only "two-letter dot-com" in the world connected to a Pop Up Store / Museum location. Thus Bonduelle becomes an online tourist attraction on a prestigious "Visit" tourism website. Internet Users and Paris Lovers will keep discovering the Bonduelle event through time.
